The DayWave family

DayWave is a LED-based luminaire designed for high-end office lighting and representative areas with a unique breakthrough design. It has been specifically conceived to create more natural, inspiring spaces, in order to enhance well-being and performance. With subtle variations and nuances of light level and light tone, it creates natural shifts in the lighting ambience. In the early morning, the light is bright and energising. In the course of the day, the light level may drop gradually and shift to soft, comforting warm-white. Incorporating cool and warm-white LEDs and an innovative optical system (Micro-Lens Optic), the ergonomically designed DayWave delivers a uniform, high level of visual comfort – compliant with European norms for office lighting. DayWave is available in a choice of curved-up and curved-down shapes and in fixed and dynamic color-temperature versions. It can be used with DALI and DMX controls. There is also an option whereby the luminaire continues to emit decorative blue indirect light after the luminaire has been switched off, for example for decoration or branding purposes.

Due to the growth of the office it was relocated to a different floor in the same building. The floor could be equipped according to our own requirements. As part of the country's largest independent player in the field of consultancy for installation techniques, energy and building physics, Deerns Maastricht is in the position of being obliged to work dynamically and innovatively. “We wanted to link the motto ‘Deerns brings ideas to life’ to our own plan, with 'slick' engineering. The entire floor had to radiate uniformity and calm, by finely tuning the acoustics, comfort and lighting.”

ETB Cas Sombroek
Volendam, The Nederlands
In 1939 Cas Sombroek opened a shop in Volendam selling lamps by Philips and electrical appliances. Later on, the emphasis moved more towards technical electrical installations. In the 1970s, Sombroek moved on from the shop in order to grow the company as ETB Sombroek. The company, which is active in domestic and commercial construction, has around 115 employees and over 60 commercial vehicles. In April 2010 they took on new office premises with storage space. Director Marco Sombroek (3rd generation) opted for a progressive lighting plan.
